During “Vårmötet”, which took place on 27–29 April 2021, Utställningskritik/UtställningsEstetiskt Forum arranged the panel discussion “Exhibitions need criticism”. The participants in the conversation were Utstillingskritik's editor-in-chief Susanne Fessé, Svenska Dagbladet's exhibition critic Eva Bäckstedt and the City of Gothenburg's development manager Klas Grinell. The moderator was Patrik Steorn from the Gothenburg Art Museum / UtställningsEstetiskt Forum . Sweden's museums reported almost 20 million physical visits in 2019 and at least 216 million digital museum visits in 2020. However, the media's coverage of this extensive cultural area is still modest. The purpose of the Exhibition Criticism's panel discussion was to draw attention to the need for an established museum reporting and an initiated exhibition critique.
